New Mexico Cancer Care Alliance Announces New Board Member and Welcomes New Participants

At their February 2008 meeting, the Board of Directors of New Mexico Cancer Care Alliance approved the following physicians who are directly involved with the treatment of cancer patients as new NMCCA participants.
Thomas Shroeder, M.D., Radiation Oncology Associates, Albuquerque
Teresa Rutledge, M.D., Gynecologic Oncologist, UNM Health Sciences Center and UNM Cancer Center, Albuquerque
NMCCA looks forward to working with these new participants and to the expertise that they bring to the organization.
The Board voted to approve the following people to join as Board members:
* Ann Benson, Chief Nursing Officer at the Lovelace Medical Center Downtown
Additionally, the Board approved People Living Through Cancer as an Affiliate Participant. Affiliate Participants are groups involved with cancer treatment, research, support and education. Affiliates work with NMCCA’s physician participants to increase knowledge of the role research may play in cancer treatments.
NMCCA looks forward to working with these new directors and participants and to the expertise that they bring to the organization.
New Mexico Cancer Care Alliance, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, offers New Mexico cancer patients and physicians access to the most up-top-date clinical research studies in cancer treatment. Our network of the major healthcare systems in Albuquerque and Santa Fe and most of the community oncology professionals allows cancer patients to receive quality healthcare locally while increasing the knowledge of cancer care globally.
