Lance Armstrong May Not Be Coming To New Mexico, But The Doctor Who Cured Him Is!

World-renowned oncologist Larry Einhorn, MD, will be in Albuquerque on Friday, February 27, 2004, to discuss the latest technologies and advancements in cancer treatments and research. Dr. Einhorn will be appearing in conjunction with the New Mexico Cancer Care Alliance (NMCCA)’s Biannual Professional Medical Education Day.

Dr. Einhorn, one of the physicians who cured Olympic and Tour de France Champion Lance Armstrong, will speak about treating testicular cancer. He also will speak about current advances in treating lung cancer and will review unusual cancer cases with New Mexico physicians.

The NMCCA Biannual Professional Education Day will provide medical professionals with three opportunities to hear Dr. Einhorn.

  • 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the UNM Basic Medical Sciences Building, Room 303
  • 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Seton Hall in the Albuquerque Regional Medical Center, 601 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave. NE
  • 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Albuquerque Petroleum Club, 500 Marquette NW

Dr. Einhorn and representatives from NMCCA will be available for media interviews from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Albuquerque Regional Medical Center’s Board Room. We are willing to work with you if a different time is required for an interview.

NMCCA is a New Mexico nonprofit corporation established in February 2002. We are an alliance of the major healthcare systems who are working together to improve treatment for cancer patients in the state. We represent approximately 70 physicians in the community who are engaged in the care of cancer patients.

NMCCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to increasing the quality of cancer care in New Mexico and to ensuring access for all New Mexicans to the best cancer therapies offered through clinical trials. We work with cancer clinical trial sponsors and oncology physicians to make opening trials and enrolling patients easier. NMCCA physicians can take part in meaningful cancer research while providing New Mexico cancer patients and their families with local access to the latest research, technologies and cancer services.
