10th Annual HERO Recognition Program – August 19th, 2017
The 10th Annual HERO (Helping to Enhance Research in Oncology) Recognition Event was a great success!
It was held on Saturday, August 19th, and had sessions that were free and open to the public. Cancer patients who volunteered for a clinical trial were sent personal invitations and received complementary tickets (plus one guest) for the luncheon.
Leslie Byatt, Clinical Research Manager at the New Mexico Cancer Care Alliance (NMCCA), spoke to Mike Jaxson, KSVP-AM, about cancer clinical trials and about the HERO event, and Terri Stewart, Director of the UNM CCC Clinical Research Office and Executive Director of NMCCA talked to KOB-TV’s Emily Jaceks about how clinical trials help people and scientific progress.
