New Mexico Cancer Care Alliance Announces Board of Directors Co-Chairs

At its Annual Meeting, Cheryl Willman, M.D. Director & CEO of the University of New Mexico Caner Center and Calvin Ridgeway, M.D., F.A.C.S., from Lovelace Women’s Hospital were appointed by the NMCCA Board of Directors to serve as the Co-Chairs of New Mexico Cancer Care Alliance Board of Directors.

NMCCA also approved Shirley Abraham, M.D., University of New Mexico Cancer Center, Jane Kanowitz, M.D., The Cancer Center at Presbyterian, Victor Vigil, M.D., Women’s Cancer and Surgical Care, PC, and Eric Bernstein, M.D., New Mexico Cancer Associates-Santa Fe as new participants.

Additionally, Cancer Support Now. Inc. was approved as Affiliate Participants. Affiliate Participants are groups involved with cancer treatment, research, support and education. Affiliates work with NMCCA’s physician participants to increase knowledge of the role research may play in cancer treatments.

NMCCA looks forward to working with these new board members and participants and to the expertise that they bring to the organization.

New Mexico Cancer Care Alliance, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, offers New Mexico cancer patients and physicians access to the most up-top-date clinical research studies in cancer treatment. Our network of the major healthcare systems in Northern, Central, and Southern New Mexico and most of the community oncology professionals allows cancer patients to receive quality healthcare locally while increasing the knowledge of cancer care globally.
